New 1 Zealand products exported during the week ended Tuesday last wore valued as follows: Butter £2871, cheese £19,078, frozen lamb £74,894, frozen mutton £173,149, beef, etc. £13,360, gold £4995, grain and pulse £2461, hides and skins £35.374, kauri gum £1554, flax and tow £30.319, tallow £18,670, timber £11,212, wool £82,386. DUNEDIN, Sept. 9It is reported that buyers of the new season’s output of cheese have advanced their prices and that some of the factories have closed with offers of 7R] f.o.b. It is said that a conference of directors of cheese factories to be field at Invercargill .to-morrow may. have a material bearing on prices which’ will bo accepted for many of the factories in the Dominion. LONDON WOOL MARKET. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co.. Ltd., have received the following information from their London house, Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co., under date 27th July, 1915: —
Wool. —Hie fifth series of colonial wool sales, which commenced on 29tlT June, closed on the 24th inst. The series opened with active competition, and prices generally shewed an advance on those ruling at the previous auctions. Later, however, except for the best combing wools, the market began to shew weakness and irregularity, whic-li was further accentuated as the sales progressed. The close of the series shews prices for all except the best combing merino wools on a considerably lower basis than at the commencement of the sales. Compared with opening rates, we quote: Superior combing merino, unchanged; medium to good merino, 5 to 10 per cent lower; inferior merino, 10 to 15 per cent lower; greasy fine crossbred, par to 5 per cent lower; crossbred, other descriptions, 10 to 15 per cent lower. The list of new arrivals for the sixth series closed on the 24th inst. The gross total for that series, which commences on 7th September, is 192,500 bales. This includes 72.000 hales held over from the series widen has just closed. The number of bales offered during the series was 155.124, of which 25,375 bales (13) per cent) wore bought in-
