Gisborne is still doing; its part nobly in the way of supplying reinforcements for the firing lino. As already stated, upwards of 300 men have been passed as medically fit at the Gisborne Defence officeJpand were awaiting the call. This dffmo for the bulk of them on Satui'daJr morning, when the local Defence authorities received word to say thafjGisborne’s draft for the Bth were to be sent down on August 15. Mho draft will include 133 mountedimen, 22 artillery, 3 engineers, 30 ijffaiitry, and 1 signaller. This will by far the largest draft Vhich has yet left Gisborne. The men selected arc required to report to the Gisborne Defenco office beforo August 12 as to whethor they can go or not. If any cannot, get away by that dato, their places will bo filled. , When this draft leaves, Gisborne will have despatched 828 men to the front —a truly splendid record.
