SENSATION AT LYTTELTON

ALLEGED THEFT CHARGE

(Press Avociation Telegram.) CHRIST CHURCH, March 7. Quite a sensation was caused at Lyttelton on Saturday when it was learned that a warrant liad been issued for the arrest of a well-known athlete and ex-employee of the Lyttelton Borough Council, for an alleged charge of theft from the Corporation’s funds. It is understood that the person implicated in the charge recently joined the reinforcements. The amount of the defalcations is believed to he between £6OO and £IOO.
