Mr John Gibson. Mayor of Paiea ir_ 1888. has just died. He was torn in England in 1841. and came to New Zealand in 1-860.
The Minister for Finance announces that Mr V,. Rees, or Christchurch. has been appointed director ct the Bank of New Zea’and in succession to the late Hon. W. Fergus.
