Tile summer meeting of the Woodville Jockey Club was commenced this morning in fair weather, but a very high wind blew all the afternoon. Tho attendance will voVy satisfactory and speculation was gccn. The sum of £11,523 passed through the totalisator, which is £2904 less than for the corresponding day last year. Results ; Maiden Plate, six furlongs.—Croesus (Deeley) 1, Combustion (W. Ryan) 2, Jem (McSweeney) 3. Nineteen others started. Fairly in tlm straight Captain McKay challenged and both horses got over the last hurdle together. Also ran: 4 Sir lvnox, 5 St. Elmn, 2 Marshal McDonald, 9 Stepney, 6 Gazette, 7 The Rover. Wild Lupin led for a whole round, when he was joined by the placed horses. At the distance post Rewi Poto drew away and won easily •by a couple of lengths, Tictoris close up third. Then came Stepney, -a Knox and St. Elmn. Time: 2.24 3-5.

Flying Hack, six furlongs.—Miraculous 3yrs 7.0 (Reid) 1, Miss Kelly 7.8 (Bell) 2, Gold Soult 7.8 (Deeley) 3. Scratched: Despatch Carrier, Allan Doone, Roumania, Sir Alba, Arrahana, Combustion. There was an exciting finish, Miraculous getting the verdict by half a length, a neck separating the other two. Time: l.iß. Borough Handicap, seven furlongs. -ylO Sandstream 8.12 (Griffiths) 1, 4 Negative 8.6 (Francis) 2,1 Lady Alicia 8.12 (T. Price) 3. Sandstream and Negative raced neck and neck down the stiajght, but the old horse was not to bo denied and won by a head. The winner paid a sensational dividend. Time: J. 34 Welter Hack, one mile and a distance. —Fashion Plate 9.2 (Deeley) 1, Roumania 9.9 (Emerson) 2, Field Force 8.12 (Adams) 3. Elevate was in front for the first half mile, and then Field Force took charge and led to the entrance to the straight, when Roumania challenged and led to the distance post. Fashion Plate then appeared on the scene and took charge, winning by a good’ length, Roumania being a length in front of Field Force Time: 1.57 2-5..
