MELBOURNE, Nov. 9
The steamer Norfolk has teen beached 20 miles west of Cunningham. The latest message is that the
fire is under control, and it is anticipated she will be refloated to-day. The Norfolk left Melbourne on Saturday morning en route to Sydney with a large general cargo. The fire broke out in No. 2 hold. The amount of damage is not stated.

(Received Nov. 9. 10.20 p.m.) MELBOURNE, Nov. 9
The agents of the steamer Norfolk report that the fire is more serious than anticipated and the vessel is bumping badly. _ Tlie three forward holds of the Norfolk are gutted and there is little hope- of saving the vessel. -
