The “Express” states that Sir Edward Grey has informed President Wilson iu friendly but unequivocal terms that if as a result of his support General Villa, becomes President Britain will demand and expect satisfaction for Benton’s murder. WASHINGTON, June 5. President Wilson, addressing tlie naval cadets at Annapolis, Maryland, alluded to Mexico. He said: “I will not have to fight any more.” He added: “Real good Americans will do what those in Mexico have done at Vera Cruz, where they are not strutting and blustering, but managing the town affairs, preserving law and order to the best of their ability. The Vera Cruzians ought to think differently of Americans thereafter, instead of hating and despising them as the Mexicans are- now in Mexico City.” Constitutionalist's have levied and forced a loan of a million dollars on Spaniards at Tepic, notifying them thereafter to leave the city > at peril of imprisonment. The Atlantic fleet at Vera Cruz has been ordered to prevent all ships carrying arms and ammunition landing cargoes at any Mexican port for the rebels or Huerta, pending mediation. OWNERSHIP OF OIL PROPERTIES STATUS QUO TO BE PRESERVED. (Received June 6, 5.15 p.m.) The United States, the Netherlands, and Britain have agreed to preserve the status quo with Mexico so far as the ownership of the oil properties is concerned.
