PLOT AGAINST A BISHOP.

PARCEL OF EXPLOSIVES RECEIVED.

A TERRIBLE TRAGEDY

[united pbesr association—COPTßlGHT] BUDA-PESTH, Fob. 23. A parcel addressed to Bishop Mikloasy, ostensibly containing gifts for the church, concealed a dynamite bomb, which exploded when no parcel opened. Bishop Miklossy's vicar and three others were killed, and seven injured. Bishop Miklossy had a marvellous escape. The vicar’s daughter became insane on learning of her father’s death. A letter signed ‘Anna Ivovaes,” notifying the despatch of the parcel, has been found. The motive is unknown. (Received February 21, 10.45 p.m.) Seven people are dead. Bishop Miklossy was lying sick in his bedroom and the walls were blown in, but he was not hurt. The whole house fell later and four people were severely injured. The vicar’s daughter was suddenly confronted with her father’s mutilated body. . The outrage is attributed to objection to the establishment of a Greek bishopric.
