The totalisator dealt with ,£26,020 as against £23,196 for the corresponding day last year,- making the total for the meeting £67,402 as compared with £54,349 for' last autumn meeting. Results ; Owhero Hurdles, of 115 so vs,, one jjiile and a-half.—3 Pure Gold 1 9.4 1, 6 Silver Monarch 9.0 2,2 Kingsway 11.0 3. Also started: Sunbeam 9.6, Jackashore 10.11, Optician 9.4, Tommy 9.0. Baritone broke away and galloped a circuit before the start. Won by three-quar-ters of a length. Time: 1.15 1-5. Time: 1.30. WANGANUI TRAINING NOTES. [PBESfI ASSOCIATION TEMCJJAItJ WANGANUI, Feb. 22. The weather was fine on Saturday morning and the track was in capital order, but a •-majority of the horses were restricted to light work. The Cup candidate, Sir Solo, was the first to strip and he was sent once round at a strong gallop, finishing up his task pleasingly. Gipsy Belle finished a long way ahead of Yemphs over a fast half-mile. The best gallop of the morning was that put up by Stepney, • accompanied by Pavlova. Stepney got a flying start from the four furlong post and together the pair hung, Stepney drawing away from his stable mate and finishing half a length in front. The time for the journey was 49sec. Arualce went twice round at a sound pace, as did also Square Deal,, Sylvania and Brunswick. Others- treated to light work were Allegation, Tiresome, Aratiatia, Historiette, His Eminence, Ruffj%_ Los Angelos, Canute, Sweet Van, Emperador, Bandiera and others.
