PROBLEMS AWAITING SOLUTION ADDRESS BY LORD HALDANE. [united peess association— copyright] (Received February 22, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 22. Lord Haldane, in a speech in London, emphasising the great progress of technical and industrial training on the Continent up to the age of 18, referred to the problem of industrial unrest in the British Empire and contended that it was necessary to bring about solidarity of conscience between the workmen and the employers. I lie latter must recogniso the workers position and the workmen must recog: nise that they had a further concern ■ than the mere getting of as much as possible in wages. He said there were many cognate problems connected with educatmn and industry awaiting solution. He was a firm believer in our capacity to keep the lead, but only if we thought and acted ahead.
