MORTGAGE RATES
AN INTERESTING RETURN
'3r TELEGRAPH—PARLIAMENTARY CORRESPONDENT] WELLINGTON, Nov. 6. A return has been laid before the ETouse of Representatives to-day showing comparatively the rates of interest paid on mortgages in 1908-9 and 1910-11. In the former period 25,208 mortgages were registered, involving £17,889,525, but in the latter period there were 26,221 mortgages for a total sum of* £20,995,622. The following table gives the amounts of some of the main totals:—
