THE BLOODY TOWER.

RELICS OF HISTORICAL EVENTS

FAMOUS DUNGEONS THROWN OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.

[TIMES—SYDNEY SDN SPECIAL CABLES.] [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT] (Received Nov. 6, 6.50 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 6. The authorities are opening to the public, for the first time, the dungeons in the W r hite Tower and Bloody lower at the Tower of London. They are filled with historical relics. In the dungeons beneath the Bloody Tower Guy Fawkes was immured. In a narrow black recess between two dungeons is a rack and thumbscrews, temple-bands and searing irons are still hanging on the wall. A few yards away Raleigh spent 10 years overlooking the spot where the equestrian statue of Elizabeth stands wearing the, robe in which she went to St. Paul’s to celebrate the defeat of the Armada. Tradition says that 700 Jews seeking refuge from a London mob spent long days and nights huddled in the dungeons of the Bloody Tower in the days of Edward' HI. The Bloody Tower is believed to be the scene of the murders of Edward V., the Duke of York, and Henry VI.
