RUGBY UNION.

Meeting of management COMMITTEE. . Messrs 11. E. Maude (chairman), W. Howard, C. Morse, T. V. D. Fahey, J. Eaton; and D. Cowan, (secretary) were present at last night’s meeting .of the Management Committee of the Poverty. Bay Rugby Union. Regarding the protest entered, by United thirds over Kaiti-City, the chairman announced that ho would give his deciding vote in favor of the motion that the match should ho replayed, and it was decided that it should he played at the end of' the round, if necessary. Ivingi (West End), who was reported for having deliberately struck a player in a third-grade match, lias gone to the country, and it was decided that ho should be suspended at the pleasure of tho Union. Players named Blair, Rasmussen, and F. Sevmour were passed for membership with the United Club, subject to the usual conditions. Mr J. Bruce Brown reported having ordered J. Prickett (Kaiti-City) off the field for having struck Roche (Y.M.P.) during last Saturday’s match.

It was decided to take the evidence of Roche, who is leaving Gisborne, and that Prickett should be called on to appear before the committee on Monday next. Mr G. H. Sceats, secretary of the Garrison Club, wrote that brake-hire cost £4 for the trip to Wahnata on Saturday, and asking for assistance towards covering the cost. The committee decided that it could qffer no assistance in the matter.

Following are the matches for Saturday :

—Senior.— United v. Y.M.P. Mr Howard said it could he taken for certain that Y.M.P. would turn out, despite rumors to the contrray. —Thirds.— United v. Garrison, No. 1 Ground, at 1.45 p.m. ; West End v. High School, No. 2, at 1.45 p.m. To-morrow, Te Hapara School will meet Gisborne A for the cup.final. Makauri, the country premiers, will play the successful town fifteen on Saturday, 27th.
