The Lord Mayor, in concluding his speech, said: “We are welcoming directors from the head office of John Bull and Co/' This sentiment was echoed in other speeches and provoked cheering when Lord Sheffield declared that visitors and hosts were all .shareholders in the Company, which the Lord Mayor had omitted to describe as limited.
