GOLF.
BOGEY MATCH. Local golfers wore favored with ideal weather conditions on Saturday afternoon. There was a bracing southerly wind, which though a trifle - rude in the early afternoon, behaved itself later, and helped the golfers on the run home. A bogey competition figured on the card. A good number competed, and the winner turned up in W. Gibson, who with a handicap of 6, did the round in 82. finishing up 3 down to the old gentleman. FOUR-BALL MATCH. During the afternoon a four-ball match was played between G. M. Hodgshun and F. W. Nolan, and G. W. Willock and B. Murray. This was a sequel to the famous match played between tho same contestants three years ago. On that occasion Dodgsliun and Nolan proved the winners, but on Saturday Willock and Murray turned the tables with a vengeance, romping home by the wide margin of 8 up and 7 to play. The winners were in great form, Murray, in particular, driving a terrific bail off the tee on the outward journey. LADIES’ GOLF. The final round for Mrs Barker’s trophy was played last Tuesday and resulted in a win for Miss Homier, who did the rounds in 90 and 91. The semi-finals in the A tournament were played off during tho week. Airs Barlow beating Mrs Morgan. In the B grade Mrs Thorne George meets Miss D. Rees, and .Miss M. de Lautour meets Miss Keiha. In the A tournament Miss King beat Mrs Barlow in the final. OojfSaturd ay afternoon the ladies liadJan approaching and putting qompoJStion, which was won by Miss Maras. iT There was a large crowd present Inuring the afternoon, and afternoon 'tea was kindly supplied by Mesdames C. F. Scott and C. Busckc and All'ss McCredie. On Tuesday. 28th. the L.G.U. will he played. The qualifying round for the championship will bo played on August. 1.
