“ WANTED TO GO THERE."

REMARKABLE SYDNEY TRAGEDY.

[UNITED PEEBB ASSOCIATION—COPY EIGHT] (Received June 1, 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, June 1. A remarkable tragedy is reported from North Sydney, where a young man named Drysdale shot a friend named Miss Day dead and seriously wounded himself.

Drysdale, who is believed to be suffering from religious mania, made a rambling statement in the hospital to the effect that lie looked up to Heaven and something told him he must take life, so he went inside and did the shooting. He added that the Bible referred to a new life hereafter, and he wanted to go there with Miss Day.
