A CORRESPONDENT TAKEN TO TASK.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l noticed in yesterday’s issue a let ter''signed in which the following statement appears f—“Or. Collins Ms, I suppose, more to blame than anybody, as he solemnly promised to support the Mayor (Mr Lysnar’s) policy, then voted against him on a motion to dispense with the Engineer’s services, and l finally came forward under various gymnastic conditions to secure that gentleman’s dismissal . ’ ’ I would point out to “Onlooker” that the above is a misstatement of fact, and would further suggest he take the trouble to verify his facts before rushing into the columns of the public, press. “Cr. Collins seconded Mr Lysnar’s motion to dispense with the services of the Engineer and voted for it.” For verication, “Onlooker” need only consult the recorded minute as it stands confirmed at the Borough Council Chambers to-day, and through the columns of the press generously admit his mistake..—Yours, etc., VERITAS.
