AN ELECTION LIBEL ACTION. HINITBD PRESB ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT} LONDON, May 29. Mr. George Balfour, an engineer’s employee, who was the Unionist candidate for Govan at last, election, sued the “Glasgow Daily Record,” and Ben Tillet for libel. It is alleged that Ben Tillet circulated, amongst the newspapers allegations as to Balfour’s responsibility for a strike. The case was settled by the payment of £IOOO.
