HOCKEY.
TO-DAY J S MATCHES. The men’s Thursday competition starts to-day with the following games: ‘ • . Kia Ona v. Tukapa (on Reserve); referees' Messrs Garrett and Lewis. Te Rau v. Mira (on Domain); referees, Mr Grant. For the start of the men’s competition on Saturday next, Messrs Cassin and Howell will control the Mercantile A. v. Civil Service A. match, and Mr Sinel the West End-Mercantile B. team. The following will represent the Tubapa team against Kia Ora to-day: Full-backs, Farquhar, Hutton, Peters ; halves, Morrison, Woenink, Pitcher; forwards, File, O’Sullivan. Harries, Hawkins. The following will represent the Kia Ora hockey team in their match with the Tukapa team on the Reserve: Goal, Doyle; full backs, Olsen and Houghie; halves, Fox, Dr. Kahlenberg, Eviress; forwards, Constable, McLachlan, Morse, McLeod, and McGuffie. _______
