.M METING OF MAN A CEMENT COMMITTEE.
The first meeting of the management committee of the Poverty Bay Hockey As- ociation was he'd last evening in the British Umpire Hotel. Present:—Messrs. Hess (Old Girls), A. Cassia (Mira). Ti. Lucas (West End), M. G. Oman (Mercantile), W. Earquahar (Civil Service), C’. B. \Veenink (Tnkapa), W. Lewis (Referees’ Association), V. Booling (Te Ran), O. 11. Olsen (hon. sec.), and l<\ J. Cramp (assistant hon. sec.). Mr. R-oss was appointed chairman, pro tern. Lists of members were passed as read. It was decided that a player be registered a member of the first team he plays for in each competition. The Mercantile Club was granted permission to tour to Napier on June 1. It was resolved to hold the matter of charging ground foes over till the end; of the first round. It was decided to apply to the Rugbv Cnion for lease of one ground on the Domain It was decided to start the men’s competition, on Thursday and Saturday respectively. The ladies to commence on Thursday week. The draw for the first round of the Thursday competition resulted as follows. matches to commence at 3 p.m.: I’liursday, loth inst.—Kia Ora v. Tukapa, on Reserve; Te Rati v. Dina, on Domain. Thursday, May 22.—Kia Ora r. Mira, on Reserve; Tukapa v. te Rati, on Domain Thursday, May 29.—Kia Ora v. Te Ran, on Domain; Tukapa v. Mira, on Reserve. The Saturday fixtures are as follows, matches to be played oil Reserve at 3 p.m. : Saturday May 17.—Mercantile B v. West End, on No. 1 ground : Mercantile A v. Civil Service A ; Civil Service B, a bye. Saturday, May 24.—Civil B v. Civil A; West End v. Mercantile A; Mereantile B, a bye. Saturday, May 31.—Civil A v. Mercantile B; Civil B v. Mercantile A: West End, a bye. Saturday, June 7.—Civil B v. West Snd; Mercantile A v. Mercantile B: Civil A, a bye. Saturday. June 14.—West End v. Civil A ; Mercantile B v. Civil B; .Mercantile A, a bye. A sub-committee, consisting of Messrs. H. A. Armstrong, A. Cassin, and 0. R. Olsen was appointed to ■chaw up lull’s governing the annual tournament on June 3, and report at next meeting.
