DUNEDIN FISHERMEN’S DISPUTE. I PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.I DUNEDIN, May 13. An application-for hearing by the Conciliation Council has been filed by Mr F. J. Sullivan and the Uneeda Trawling Company, the Dunedin Trawlers Union being cited as the other party to the dispute. A somewhat similar application was filed by the men in February, and an agreement was arrived at before the Conciliation Commissioner, but when the agreement came up last Wednesday for consideration bv the Arbitration Court the Union asked that the dispute be struck out, and this was done. The 6mployers are now reversing the usual procedure and are asking that the terms of the agreement be made into an award. The Commissioner will consequently go over the dispute once more, tlie rehearin" being set down for June lE.

CHRISTCHURCH, May 13.. The Postmaster-General lias received the following letter f rom the general manager of the Central Isews Agency. London: — “T trust that I may be permitted, «n behalf of the management ot the Central News Agency, to thank you and the officers of the New Zealand Telegraph Department for the efficient and wholly admirable manner in which they dealt with the exceptional and important traffic which arose out of the sad disastei to Captain Scott during the week commencingy February 10 last. I refer not only to the despatches sent to us in London and the Australian and New Zealand Press Associations by Mr. Kinsey, but also to the messages which our local correspondent, Mr. Drummond, sent to the ‘Daily Chronicle,’ London, at our request. The work could not have been done better, and is greatly appreciated by the Centra 1 News and by yours faithfully- (Signed) John Pehiirings, General Manager. ’
