The New Year honors list includes the name of Mr Leonard Stowe, clerk of ,the New Zealand Parliament, who is made a Companion of St. Michael and St. George.

(Mr Leonard Stowe, C.M.G., Clerk of the New Zealand Parliament, was born at Trolly Hall,. Buckinghamshire and -arrived in New Zealand by the ship Lady Alice, settling at Nelson. He was secretary to Messrs Thomas Carter and A. P. Seymour, Superintendents of ■ the Province of Marlborough, and became clerk to the Marlborough Provincial Council in 1864 and, Clerk of the Legislative Council a. year later. Ho became Clerk of the Parliaments in succession to Major Campbell in 1889.]
