The white population of Kansas City is feverishly excited over the disappearance of a little girl, who it- is alleged has been kidnapped by negroes. Peaceful blacks in the town are living in hourly dread of being attacked by infuriated whites. The girl is Irene Justin, aged 11, the daughter of Frank Justin, a cabinetmaker. Last Monday her mother took her into the town and left her playing with some children while she went away on business. When the mother came back the child had gone and so far no trace cf her has been found. The other children say that a negro came to Irene, told her that her inotber had been taken suddenly ill, and led: her awav.
It is believed that the negroes are waiting for the offer of a ransom.
