CRICKET.

SATURDAY'S MATCHES. Only one game was played in the Senior Competition on Saturday afternoon, owing to the game between Wanderers and Kia Kaha being postponed on account of several members of the former team being unable to get leave owing to pressure of business. UNITED v. TARUHERU.

This game was concluded at Taruheru on Saturday, when the suburban eleven scored an easy win by nine wickets. On the first day of the match Taruheru scored 191. whilst United totalled 55 and 71 for two wickets. Continuing their second innings on Saturday United carried the total to 155. Greene (46) and Gartshore (68) were responsible for the bulk of the runs, the pair putting on 96 for the third wicket. G. Hooker, with six for 51, was the most successful bowler for Taruheru. The country eleven knocked off the 20 required to win for the loss of one wicket, and thus secured a win outright. The following are the scores:

The remainder of the afternoon was devoted to practice. Taruheru continued their innings, and when stumps were drawn had scored 129 for the loss of eight wickets. Southcombe (21), Gough (39), Hooker (24) and Seal (11), were the principal run-getters. P.B. CRICKET ASSOCIATION.
