SYDNEY NEWSPAPER COMMENT

rUNITED TRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT) SYDNEY, Dec. 19. The “Herald/’ commenting on the growing mutual attitude between Australia and New Zealand, says, that perhaps the Dominion is l>egiuning to recognise that the difficulties and responsibilities of its lot are greater than appeared in the first flush of enthusiasm or perhaps the darkening olouds of the international situation' have taught a lesson similar to Aesop’s fable aboit t the bundle of sticks. At any rate, there appears to he a growing sense, that .in matters in relation to our national integrity, and with it the integrity of the Pacific and the British Empire, our interests are to further our joint destinies. There is no necessity for New Zealand to sacrifice any vestige of her individuality.
