Bracken 12sec. HALF-DAY SPORTS. HELD YESTERDAY. The first of a series of half-day sports in connection with the Britannia Cycling Club wa s held yesterday afternoon at the new Childer’s Road Reserve. There was a fair attendance of spectators. A stiff wind prevailed and considerably handicapped the various events. The track, considering that it had not previously been used, provided fair going, and in a few months should equal any in the Bay. The following are the results:— 100 Yards’ Flat Race—C. Stagpoole 1. Davy 3.- Time 2min. 12Jsec. 2 Miles Cycle Race.—G. Carr 1, A. Matthews 2, W. A. Thorne 3. Time 6min. 24secs. S. Doleman’s medal for the one securing the highest number of point was won by C. Stagpoole, after a good run off with L. C. Davy.
