BOWING.

GISBORNE CLUB. The weekly meeting of the Gisborne Rowing Club was held in the boathouse last evening. There were present: Messrs Gully (in the chair). Quigley, Hamilton. Coleman, Pycroft, McConville and Hutton. Various accounts were passed for payment. It was decided that all entrance fees for races must be paid within a week of the crews being picked. Messrs Hamilton and Coleman were elected a. visiting committee for the ensuing week. Yesterday’s Contests. The semi-iinals in the A and B grade trial fours were rowed last evening. In the A grade Hamilton (str), Jeffreys (3). Fyson (2) and O’Meara (bow) beat, Coleman (str). Miller (3), Polock (2) and Searfe (bow). This was a very closelycontested race, both crews being light out. Hamilton managed to secure the verdict by throe feet. In the next A grade race, Langridge (str), Parsons (3), Wylie (2) and Haullain (bow) beat McConville (str), Donovan (3), Fraser (2) and A. Quigley (bow) by about a length. In the B grade races, Faxam (str), Peacocke (3), Sprague (2) and Devery (bow) defeated Pycroft (str), Solvander (3). Sargission (2) and Hennesy (bow) by a bare canvas. This was a very close race. Pycroft gained the advantage at t lie start, hut Faram caught him at the junction and gained a slight lead. Pycroft sprinted at the finish, but was j list beaten by a few feet.

Moore (str), Evans (3), Duncan (2) and Young (bow) beat Tocker (str), Hudson (3), Smart (2) and Cummings (bow) by about a length.The finals will be rowed to-night, when Langridge meets Hamilton in the A grade, arid Moore rows Fa ram in the B grade. Two good races are anticipated.
