LIGHTING OUR COASTS.

THE GOVERNMENT’S POLICY. TWO LIGHTHOUSES A YEAR. By Telegraph—Special Correspondent. WELLINGTON, Sept. 12. It is not the intention of the Government to go on with the construction of a light-house at- the Three. Kings this year. The policy henceforth will be to erect two lighthouses every year until the-coast is adequately lighted and the lighthouses for this year will be at North Cape and Castlepoint. Next year the Government will turn its attention to marking the Three Kings’ peril. It will be a difficult task to set up a light on the Western King on account of the difficulty of finding a landing place for building materials. The same difficulties, will occur, if the light is established, in getting stores ashore for the liglitkeepers. The Hinemoa will visit- the Kings shortly to make careful observations and to take soundings and very .probably the Minister for Marine will make the. trip with the Hinemoa.
