WELLINGTON, Sept. 11

Sir J. Carroll in the House to-day said lie would ask the Minister for Labor whether the Government had decided to carry out the proposal to acquire land for workers’ dwellings in Gisborne?

The Superintendent of workers’ dwellings, lie said, had visited Gisborne several months ago and entered into negotiations for the purchase of suitable land, but so far no announcement had been made respecting the result of same.
