An "Auckland delegate created some indiumation bv stating that Auckland being opposed to the tournament would not accept the tournament next year if it was offered. It. was resolved to recommend Auckland for the next tournament system. Mr T. L". Floyd, manager of the Nelson team, announced that be would give a shield for runners-up in the senior tournament. The offer was received with applause and it was decided to recommend tho New Zealand Association to name the trophy the Floyd Shield.
