THE ETERNAL QUESTION OF ROADS.
(.TO THE EDITOR.)
Sir. —As an old subscriber to your paper I am pleased to see the public spirit vou are showing m ventilating, bv printing letters, the burning question of Borough matters. To my mind the statement of one of your corresnondents that more practicability is required is a good one. I should think that the pressure of comment would be much relieved it a little energetic 'road repairing were done. How about Roebuck Road and Orpiond Road, and a. little attention to Stout Street? The worst holes shouldbe filled and tlic metal rolled in. The effect of just dumping so much metal in a hole and not- rolling is, that light traffic has to avoid it if possible. There is no decent approach to town at present on the AVhataupoko side. The County roads are good. AVhy are not the Borough Roads passable ?—I am, etc., < (]RROKEN SPRING.”
