GISBORNE FIRE BRIGADE.

ANNUAL DINNER

Mr S. Wootton gave his annual dinner and dame to the members and friends of tire Gisborne Fire Brigade at the Poverty Bay Rowing Club’s Hall last night. The function was the most successful ye: held, and dancing, interspersed with songs, was continued until an early hour this morning. Mr J- Townley presided at the dinner which W3S of an enjoyable nature. Mr .Townlev referred to the good qualities of Mr Wootton, both as a citizen and as a friend of the brigade, and said he hoped that their host would ever continue to be so. In conclusion, cn behalf of the members of the Brigade, lie thanked -Mi- Wootton for Ills Generosity. ifr Wootton, in responding, said it him great pleasure to prepare a little treat for the members and friends. The dances were of a varied nature. music being supplied by Mr Godfrey Copley.
