CHARGE AGAINST NAPIER MOTORIST.
FOUND GUILTY OF AIAXSLAUGHTER. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.! NAPIER. June 27.
The trial of-Kuku Matene Ropiba, charged with manslaughter by causing the death of two Natives througn overturning of a motor car alleged to have been recklessly driven by him at Waipawa, concluded this afternoon. A verdict of guilty was returned with a strong recommendation for mercy, the jury adding a rider that the- law should be amended making it illegal for any person to drive a motor car who has not passed a stringent examination as to his fitness. Sentence will lx? given to-morrow.
