Heavy seas broke over the vessel during the whole of the night, making it impossible to rescue the crew. Combers swept a great hole in the hows of the Vosburg. Finally, after hours of effort, the Government life-saving crew put off in a lifeboat, and managed to rescue the crew, who were in the last stages of exhaustion.
