SMITH FOUND GUILTY. WHAT DOES THE SENTENCE MEAN ? TWO MORE BURGLARIES REPORTED. [UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT] (Received May 7. 9.30.) SYDNEY, May 7. Alfred Smith was found guilty of breaking Into a - house at Randwie'k, and also of shooting at Mr. Thompson, tlie occupier, with intent to murder. He was sentenced to 14 years on the first count and to life on the second count. The Judge remarked that lie would leave the Executive to decide, as to what the sentence meant. Two more burglaries are reported today. In both there were small hauls.
