Present indications are for easterly winds strong to a gale northward of East Cape and Kawliia, soutlpeasterlies increasing thence to Kaikoura and Farewell Spit, and moderate to strong southerlies elsewhere. Unsettled and stormy weather is probable in the North Island shortly with heavy rain in the northern districts and rain probably following over the North Island. Cool and changeable weather is nrobablo in the south. The barometer lias a falling tendency everywhere, especially in the north.
