HOME RULE.

IRELAND MORE SELF-RELIANT

DOESN’T NEED THE MEASURE.

[united press association—copyright] (Received Dec. 10, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Dec. 9. Mr. Austin Chamberlain, at Bristol, referring to Home Rule, said that everyhotly agreed that Ireland was happier materially to-dav than at any time, and asked why should the good work be interrupted. Mr Campbell. M.P. for Hounslow, said the Irish enjoyed the same rights and privileges as the English, and their real grievances wer ( . swept away by the Land Art.-.. They were now more seifreliant and independent, and did not want Home Rule.

Mr. Isaacs, presiding at a Home Rubs demonstration at Reading, denied Mr Bonar Law’s remarks asserting that the Government majority obtained on. one of the issues other than Home Rule. Mr. Redmond said that the Irishmen would never he bribed by doles or coerced by imprisonment. He added that Mr. Bonar Law was most ungrateful in complaining of the influence of the Irish vote in Britain, because lie owed his first election in Glasgow to instruction-- from the United Irish League.
