DUE TO FAULTY WORKMANSHIP

[mm miKSs association.o CHRISTCHURCH. Dec. 9

One half of the reservoir at Clifton. Sumner, burst yesterday afternoon, and about 50,000 gallons of water were lost-. The force of the water hurled pieces of concrete, weighing 5 tons, down the hill for 100 and 200 yards. The bursting of the reservoir is attributed to faulty workmanship, and according to the mayor of Sumner, it will be necessary to have the whole of the reservoir rebuilt.
