TYPOGRAPHICAL UNION.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Typographical Union was held on Saturday evening, Mr T. Brosnahan in the chair. A letter was received from the Drivers’ Union urging the necessity, of appointing an organiser for the district, and asking the Union to instruct its delegates to support the proposal when before the Trades Council. —It was decided to give the delegates a free hand in the matter. The East Coast Trades and . Labor Council wrote asking the Union to take an active part in the display on Labor Day. It was resolved to refer the matter to the committee, to report on the prospects of making a display. Copies or their half-yearly reports were received from the Canterbury, Wellington, and Auckland Unions. The . following were elected to fill vacancies in the list of officers : President, Mr A. Greene; vice-president, Mr E#, Marsh; committeeman, Mr W. P. Porter; trustees, Messrs J. C. E. Turner and F. W. Medland; auditor, Mr P. Fromm.
