A SUDDEN DEATH.

WELL-KNOWN ENGINE DRIVER EXPIRES. FATALITY AT KAITANGATA STATION. A startlingly sudden deatli occurred at Kaitangata station, Ivana'kanaia, on Saturday, when a man of about 53 years of age, named "William Milne, collapsed in a paddock near the homestead, and passed away before assistance could be brought to him. Deceased, who had been complaining of pains in the chest for about a week previously, was found on Saturday on his knees in great pain. Assistance was immediately sought, but when the party returned to the sufferer Lne unfortunate man was found to be dead. The police and the District Coroner (Mr W. A. Barton) were advised of the fatality. Mr Barton gave instructions to Constable Doyle, of Te Karaka, to make the fullest inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death % ft d after receiving a report was satisfied that death was due to natural causes, and that it was unnecessary to hold an inquest. The late Mr. Milne was well known in the country districts, having been employed for a number of years by Mr F. Hall as a traction engine driver, and was well-liked by all who knew him. His friends are- notified that the funeral will leave Te Karaka at noon today, and the interment will take place at the Ormond Cemetery at 2 o’clock this afternoon.
