WINDING GEAR FAILS

As the result of the failure of the winding gear at the Sons Givalia mine at Leonora Skip, ten men fell to the bottom, 2000 feet. The shaft cable parted and fell on top. Frank Rooney an assistant surveyor, was killed. Adams, a surveyor, is not expected to recover. Six miners are seriously injured.
