A GIRL’S ROOM.

A vogue for painted furniture is arising again, and nowher§_can it be used with better effect than in a girls’ bedroom. There is a youtlifulness and daintiness about it that makes it eminently suitable for the purpose-. It may be enamelled in any color to harmonise with the treatment of the room, and be further embellished with floral deorations. The latter idea is most effective on white enamelled wooden sets.

A room recently fitted up for a girl in a most attractive manner had ivory white paint, and the walls were flung with a white paper in a creamy tint with a rose design. With the curtains of cream white net with side curtains of a soft pink shade. The furniture was a wooden set that had been put aside for many years. It was first painted with a coat of ordinary paint, then enamelled in cream white, and formal little bunches of pink roses were painted on the head and foot of the bed. and on the backs of the chairs and on top of the chest of drawers.

A pretty effect can bo evolved with a pale bine color scheme. Ihe wooden set can be enamelled in blue and decorated with bunches of roses in a delicate pink or white asters look well. The outside curtains should be of a pale blue, and a .white, or cream paper in small stripes should be used with furniture painted wholly in a color.
