MOTHER EARTH’S HOROSCOPE.
LIFE 1000 YEARS HENCE
M. Camille Flamniarion, the distinguished French astrologer, recently cast Mother Earth’s horoscope for the next 1000 years. Here are a few of the things he said : —‘ l Your fanuly js to a-row in 1000 years from 1,450,000,000 to 3,360,000,000. You are now troubled with the servant girl problem. Have no fear. In 1000 years there will be no servants. All housework will be done by trained crang-utangs or chimpanzees. You have some trouble with indigestion, have von not? Abandon all anxiety; m 1000 years chemical synthesis will have done away with all cooking of elaborate dishes, and men and women will entertain themselves in conservatories, the banquet consisting of compressed viands or delicacies served on silver trays, the tabloid melting in one’s mouth and doing away with the necessity of vulgar mastication. There will -be one universal currency, and in 1000 yea-rs weather will be foretold to a raindrop, a snowflake, or a ray of sunshine. .
