SINKING FUND GOMMISSONERS.

OBJECTION TO RECENT LEGISLATION. [Press Association.] DUNEDIN, Feb. 10. . At the meeting of the City Council to-night, a motion was passed regretting that in consequence of sections in the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 190 S. it is compelled to avoid making use in future loans of the sinking fund commissioners, whose efforts have earned handsome returns for the city in the past. A protest was entered against the compulsion to appoint the Public Trustee, and it- vas decided to request Parliament to remove the objectionable sections. A deputation consisting of the whole Council was appointed to wait ou the Hon. J. A. Millar on the subject.
