The jury found Scott not guilty on the charge of murdering his wife at Spring Gully on December 14th. The Judge,, discharging the jury, said: — “Who did the deed is only known to God and yourself.” [Mrs. Scott, wife of the manager of the Spring Gully dredge, was found shot dead. Her husband was arrested on the evidence of his little daughter, who stated that her l ather and mother were quarrelling, that her father struck her mother, and that afterwards she heard a shot fired.]
