GISBORNE ROWING CLUB. The following crews have been selected to compete in the Gisborne Rowing Club's next competition, the Morse fours, to take place on the Waimata river, the first race starting on February 15: —IT. Morse (2), Payne (bow). THE MERCER REGATTA. [Press Association.] AUCKLAND, Feb. 9. Interest is being aroused in the forthcoming championship rowing regatta at Mercer on Saturday. The Waitemata Boating Club’s senior fours., has been training on the river for tne jiast week, and the St. George Club’s double scullers went up yesterday. The Blenheim crew arrived at Onehunga on Sunday, and also went up to Mercer yesterday. The Napier and Clifton crews are expected to-day, while, it is anticipated that all the compeling crews will be on the river by Wednesday. The executive committee of the Auckland Rowing Association visited Mercer on Saturday, and completed arrangements for next Saturday. The Maoris are taking great interest in the regatta, and are already arriving at Mercer in anticipation of the event.
