PROSPECTING FOR GOLD.
TO BE UNDERTAKEN BY GOVERNMENT. [Press Association.] y WELLINGTON,; Feb. 9. The Government has decided to make provision for both islands to be thoroughly prospected for gold by parties of mining experts. Systematic tours of all mining districts will be carried out. Several-small parties of experienced miners will prospect each island. They will probably start operations north of Auckland and in the Buller district. The object is to discover new goldfields and to thoroughly prospect districts .where gold has -already been found.
