Rowley said that he was sorry he stood before them for the last time as headmaster of the High School. He expressed a wish that the two .new schools would work together amicably, and with no friction. Cheers were given for Mr. [Rowley ‘ and Mr. Kinder, and 1 a vote of thunks to the chairman, proposed by Bov. L. Dawson Thomas brought the proceedings to a close. The following were the winners of the xieaeher’s special prizes in Standard VI. —General proficiency on I class marks: Doris LeQuesne and I Geoffrey Parker. Improvement on I exercise books: Janies Griffin and I Lizzie Wilkinson.

KAITI SCHOOL. This school also broke up yesterday moruing for the midsummer vacation. Mr. D. Fyson, chairman of the School Committee, presided, and expressed his regret that the prizes and medals were not available for distribution, but stated that they would he presented when the school re-as-sembled after Christmas. He wished them a;ll a very happy Christmas. .Mr. Bull, headmaster, referred to the diligence of the pupils, commenting on the fact that no fewer tlinn 40 ofAiliem had qualified for medals. With a few more pupils .and a better average attendance, they mould soon hope for a fuller stuff of teachers. He thought that the committee were to be congratulated for the improvements that had been effected in the school grounds. ~B2io prizes won in the Bible classes were then .presented by Mrs. Porter, after Rev. Wm. Grant had read out the list and spoken a few words commending the religious instruction to the children. Cheers were given for the ch»iirjiian, the committee, and the headmaster and staff, and the gathering terminated. The following is a list of the prizewinners:— . _ Standard.
