At the Turailganui green on Monday J. J. Martin met T.' McConiiell in the Bennett Cup and championship gold medal competition. McConnell secured the lead, but Martin on the fifth head had scored 5 to his opponent’s 3. The game was very even right up to the 15th head, but from this point Martin drew away from his opponent, winning easily at the finish by 20 to 14. Martin has a substantial lead for the Cup, and unless he is beaten in his npxt two games he must win, The following teams will play ill the Gisborne Club’s Shield match:—City: J. A .Lucas, G. B. DUNEDIN, Fe'b. 25: At a meeting of the Council of the New Zealand Bowling Association tonight, Mr. Waddell (president) was appointed to represent the association at the conference of bowlers in Sydney at Easier. The Council regretted tlpit the constitution did not permit the delegating of authority to any member, but the president was authorised to suggest any recommendations, which would receive-the full consideration of the Council.
