The statjon master (Mr Day) presented Mr Greene with a Gladstone bag as a token of esteem in viliich ho is held by all branches of the service, and spoke highly of Mr Greene s services, being supported by i Dunphy, Lenihan, \\ a beheld, 0 Connor and Bousfield. •Mr Greene suitably responded. Air. Eustace Lane, a candidate for tlie vacancy on the Hawke’s Bay £aiul Board, returned to Napier lastnight after a visit to the Motu district. Mr. John Ma ckenzie, representing Quibell’s Sheep Din, was in Gisborne on Saturday, and left for the South last night.
